Privacy Policy
Effective Date: February 1, 2025
Welcome to FilmPro (“FilmPro,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). We value your privacy and strive to be transparent about how we collect, use, and share your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how FilmPro handles the information we obtain when you use our AI-powered film production management platform, related websites, applications, and services (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you disagree with any part of this Policy, you should discontinue your use of the Service.

- “User Content” means any film script, text, images, project data, or other content you upload or generate within the Service.
- “AI Providers” refers to third-party large language model (LLM) vendors or image-generation vendors, such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and Replicate, which FilmPro integrates with to power our AI Co-Producer and other AI features.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information in the following ways:
A. Information You Provide to Us
- Account Registration: When creating an account, you provide your name, email address, and a password.
- Payment Information: Through our payment processor (e.g., Stripe), you may provide your billing address, payment card details (encrypted and stored by the processor), and other relevant information to complete subscription transactions.
- User Content: The film scripts or any other production-related materials (e.g., call sheets, character breakdowns) you upload or generate using the Service.
- Communications: If you contact us directly (e.g., for support), we collect the content of your message and any attachments you send.
B. Information Collected Automatically
- Usage Data: We automatically log details about how you use the Service, such as feature usage, pages viewed, timestamps, and interactions with the AI Co-Producer. We may also collect device information (e.g., operating system, browser type), IP addresses, and other diagnostic data.
- Cookies & Tracking: We use essential cookies (e.g., from Supabase) to keep you logged in. In the future, we may implement analytics cookies with tools like Google Analytics or PostHog to gather anonymized or pseudonymized usage insights. For more details, see Section 8.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for purposes that include:
- Service Delivery: To create and manage your account, provide core functionality (e.g., uploading scripts, generating production resources), and operate the AI Co-Producer.
- AI Functionality: To process your scripts or requests via our AI Providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Replicate). We share only the necessary context (e.g., script excerpts or user prompts) to generate the requested AI outputs.
- Subscription & Billing: To process payments, manage AI credits, and handle subscription renewals or cancellations.
- Communication & Support: To respond to inquiries, provide customer support, inform you of updates or changes to the Service, and send you system alerts or administrative messages.
- Analytics & Improvements: To analyze anonymized or pseudonymized usage patterns, refine AI features, develop new functionalities, and enhance overall user experience.
- Security & Legal Compliance: To detect, prevent, or address potential fraud, abuse, or security incidents, and to comply with our legal obligations.
4. Our AI Practices
Third-Party AI Providers:
- OpenAI & Anthropic: Provide large language models for text-based AI outputs.
- Replicate (Flux Models): Used to generate images such as film posters or other visuals.
We share only the minimal data needed (your prompt or relevant script/context) to get the output you request.
No Model Training on Your Data:
- FilmPro does not use your scripts or other content to train our own AI models.
- We configure our partnerships so that OpenAI, Anthropic, and Replicate likewise do not use your data for their general model training without your explicit permission. (For more details, see the respective provider's privacy policies.)
Data Handling & Retention by AI Providers:
- We contractually require our AI Providers to handle any data sent for AI processing with strict confidentiality and to delete or not retain the data unless needed to fulfill your specific request.
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell or rent your Personal Data. We share information only in the following contexts:
- Service Providers:
- Payment Processing: Stripe (or similar) handles subscription fees.
- Database & Hosting: Supabase, Vercel, or other reputable providers store and host user data.
- AI Providers: OpenAI, Anthropic, Replicate, as described in Section 4.
- Analytics: In the future, Google Analytics or PostHog for anonymized/pseudonymized usage data.
- Business Transfers: If FilmPro is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or part of our assets, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. Any successor entity will continue to abide by this Privacy Policy (or provide notice of changes).
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose your data if required by law, court order, or in response to a valid legal request (e.g., subpoena), or when necessary to protect our rights, property, or safety (or that of others).
- With Your Consent: We may share your information with third parties when you explicitly authorize or request us to do so.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
Retention Period: We keep your Personal Data and User Content only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy (e.g., maintaining your projects, providing AI services) or to comply with legal obligations.
User Initiated Deletion: You can delete individual scripts, projects, or your entire account at any time. Upon account deletion, we will remove your data from active systems. Some residual data (e.g., log records) may remain in backups or archives for a limited period, but will be deleted or anonymized according to our retention schedules.
Backup & Archive: We periodically back up our databases for disaster recovery. If your data is in a backup, it will be removed or anonymized once that backup is rotated out in the normal course of operations.
7. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights regarding your Personal Data:
- Access & Correction: You can review, update, or correct your Personal Data by logging in to your account or contacting us.
- Deletion (“Right to Be Forgotten”): You can request that we delete your Personal Data. We'll comply unless we're legally required or have a legitimate reason to keep it.

10. CCPA & CalOPPA Disclosures
For California residents:
- California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA): We do not “sell” personal information as defined under the CCPA. We take measures to ensure any cross-border data transfers are protected in accordance with applicable laws.
13. Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, your information (including Personal Data and User Content) may be transferred to a successor or affiliate. If such a transfer occurs, the new entity will continue to abide by this Privacy Policy or inform you if its data practices change.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the Effective Date at the top of this page.
